1/700 USS Ticonderoga (Trumpeter)
This is my second Essex Class Carrier. This time I tried the “Long Hull” version and a Trumpeter kit. This was a very detailed build but very enjoyable. I cut and folded the wings on the Trumpeter planes, putting them into a parked position. I particularly liked the radio antennae in the Flyhawk Essex photo etch, and Fine Molds 20 and 40 mm guns. The use of Gator Paint Mask is a must. I modified the main mast to highlight the various radars atop the island. Build time approximately three months.
