1/350 USS Bunker Hill CV-17 (Trumpeter)

I built the Bunker Hill using the Trumpeter Essex kit and both of GMM's detail sets for it. Most of the hanger doors were opened and some planes and crewmen were placed below (I still need to get a flight deck crew, other projects have gotten in the way!) I brush painted the entire ship and airwing using both Model Master and WEM for paints (don't have an airbrush - yet). All markings on the flight deck are painted too as they were done before GMM came out with the flight deck numbers. She is designed to be lifted off the waterline plate if I desire and placed on the full hull. I did this by gluing the waterline plate for the ship on a wood base and doing up the waves etc. with sculpy and acrylic gel. I left just enough clearance so that the ship can be slotted into place and be easily (and carefully) removed top be placed onto the bottom hull.
