1/700 USS Nassau CVE-16 (Tamiya)
Pretty much a straight box-stock build (except for Trumpeter's F4F Wildcats) of Tamiya's Bogue class escort carrier. Decent kit for it's age, has good molded detail and choices for bridges along with multiple decal markings. She is modeled as she sailed in support of the Battle of Attu in May of '43 off Alaska - one of the few times a CVE of her class made it into the Pacific. From my understanding this is one of, if not the first time, a Marine detachment of aircraft flew from a carrier with their Wildcat's strafing and providing aircover. No significant changes were attempted with this kit, just minor filler and research for her paint scheme which was MS-14 at the time. The sea base is just the usual plaster over wood, with acrylic paints, Mod Podge, and cotton.
