USS Independence CVL-22 by Martin J Quinn

The model depicts the "Mighty I" around November 1943, right before she was torpedoed while supporting operations in the Gilbert and Marshall Islands.

The model was built with the Gold Medal Model's set for Light carriers and Escort Carriers and painted with White Ensign colorcoats.   The 20 mm guns are all placed upon WEM's resin pedestals.   She was weathered with pastels and drybrushing.

A small airgroup of Avengers and Hellcats will be added once I find the time to paint the planes.
