1/350 USS Enterprise CVN-65 (Tamiya)
This ship was build based on my 2007 made USS Enterprise. Same as last
time with lot of correction and details. Started from the hull same as
last time build a hanger but this time I added 10 small LED's for lighting!
The fantail was heavily converted with the left hand side the CIWS base
and the small house (check Engine fire control room) made from a resin
copy from my last ship. The right hand side under the fight deck I used
references from the photo of the real ship. I added a gallery walk and
tub on the hull! Island did not have so much work. Mainly adding clear
green transparent plastic sheet for the island windows. Mast and radar
was photo etch, and I added 0.3mm plastic rod to detail the structure!
At the back side of the island I had added a room and the CIWS base from
resin made. On the fight deck I sanded down all tie down points because
they were over scale and not easy to see through in this small scale. You
should only see these in 1/144 or larger scale. Some fight deck side catwalk's
walls were replaced with railings. I added a working platform near the
no.4 catapults and LSO at the rear! Tom's Modelworks photo etch Flotation
racks were added. Hull and fight deck was heavily weathered by using air
brush. Air wings were not the same as last time. Trumpeter aircraft were
used. The air wings are from box spray with Mr. Color Light Gull gray or
Light Ghost Gray with Tamiya black color wash giving weathering on
raised panels. Two aircraft were added with WEM photo etch Flag and slab.
2 Sea kings had opened cargo door and photo etch rotor. The EA-6B is making
it's landing and an F-14 is ready for launch.
