1/350 USS Nimitz CVN-68 (Trumpeter)
Kit is the Trumpeter 1/350 USS Nimitz kit. I built the kit as she was in her 1977 - 1978 Mediterranean Deployment with Air Wing 8 (AJ) on board.
I used both the kits and Gold Metal Models Aircraft Carrier Decal Set on the ship. Aircraft decals are either from the kit or hand painted for those squadrons not included in the kit.
Used Tauro from Italy PE rails set and bits and pieces of left over PE from other kits. The SPS-43A radar was made from scrap P.E. and flight deck safety nets are hand made from screen door netting.
All in all, it was a most excellent and fun kit to build.
