1/700 IJN Hiryu (Aoshima)

I modeled the IJN Hiryu as depicted in The Battle of Midway.  The Hiryu was one half of Carrier Division 2 along with the Soryu.  Hiryu was captained by Tomeo Kaku under the commander of the First Mobile Striking Force (*Kido Butai), *VADM Chuichi Nagumo.

Depiction of the Hiryu without the red hinomaru is based on information researched by Dan Kaplan during his fabulous build of the 1/350 scale Hiryu.  (Thanks Dan!)
