1/500 Destroyer Collection (Kitbash/Scratch)
The destroyers are USS Morris DD-417 and USS Hutchins DD-476. Both were Pacific veterans. Morris is a Sims class vessel featuring a rounded bridge and shear line. She is built of cedar and basswood. The light aa weapons are from kits (various) as well as the depth charge racks and a modified dech house from lindberg. pe rails and radar from GMM and the skipper and xo from Tom's via FDD finish it off.
Hutchins is an early round bridge Fletcher made from scratch. The light aa guns are from my parts box. Masts were made of plastic and pe. Rails, radar and one bridge officer finish off what was a lot of fun to try. My appologies for the liberties taken with accuracy to any tin can sailors out there.
