1/500 Destroyer Collection (Kitbash/Scratch)
This is my USS Cole DD-155. She is scratch built from wood. I used the 3" /50's from a Revell Arizona and 1.1's from a Revell Yorktown for the weapons. I added pe rails,hatches ,ladders,and radar. I tried to show the old 4 piper as she looked after being converted to long range ocean escort duty. In this role she lost a boiler and a stack for increased fuel capacity.
The second vessel is a try at making a modified Black Swan sloop. I got the urge from watching the movie Battle Hell starring Ritchard Todd and the HMS Amethyst. While plastic from kits, the guns are hand made. I think they are 4.7's in a semi-enclosed mount...not sure! I have only a picture to go on. I added pom-pom's from a Eastern Express kit,PE rails and radar. I looks English to me and I like it.
