This is my USS Jacob Jones DD-130, A Wickes class flushdecker. It is a Revell 1/240 scale kit of the USS Buchanan. This was given to me by a friend who had it sitting in a box in his attic for close to forty years along with a few other kits that evidently were built by one of his sons when they were very young. So what I received were in pretty bad shape. He said "maybe you can do something with them I don't have the heart to throw them away." I preceded to dismantle it with the greatest of care clean it up, scratchbuild a few fittings, like the fore mast a few ready boxes, anchors, depth charge rack, and reassemble and paint. Being a one time Bosun mate I trimmed the base with a 3 strand braid that I made and this is the result of the "yard period".
