1/700 USS Porter DD-356 (Combrig)
My recently completed USS Porter. This is the Combrig 1/700 resin kit. Like all of Combrig's recent releases, it is very crisply moulded. In particular, the 1.1" anti-aircraft guns are amazing. It is hard to imagine how they could be cast in resin at all, let alone in one piece!
Extra photo-etch and figures are by Gold Medal.
The mast is replaced by tapered brass rod. The rigging is a mixture of nylon cord teased out to individual fibres and the "Caenis" fly-tying monofilament that I mentioned in the "Tips & Tricks" forum.
The signal flags spell out the initials of Charlie John Lewis, the new baby of one of my employees!
