1/285 Fletcher-Class DD (Revell)

This is the Revell Fletcher-class destroyer kit. The kit goes back a number of years and is of a similar vintage to Revell's Missouri battleship and Midway aircraft carrier. Like those, it is in a "box scale" (about 1/295 in this case) and has an incomplete lower hull with no propellers or shafts.

I got this kit in its late 1980s/early 1990s packaging as USS The Sullivans. I built it as a generic Fletcher class in a mottled measure 12 camouflage. Given the issues with the lower hull, I waterlined it. The freeboard appears a little low in the stern, but I still like the overall result.
