USS Fletcher DD-445

1/350 USS Fletcher DD-445 (Tamiya)

Building this model was the easy part, painting that camo was another thing, while full hull and not wanting to drill incert screws and hold with a clamp, I decided the first thing to do, was indeed to paint the hull, this was a problem due to handling and wearing the paint thin.

I wanted to complete this camo before any major building went on, using the old tried and tested method of applying decals was the answer to this question. Once painted, gloss varnish, applied decals, then a matt varnish cover allowed me to handel the model freely without any danger of losing the camo.

This model was built some time ago now, and while I'd love nothing more then to build 1-350, the Fletcher is about the largest model in this scale I can store, I used general PE, fly line for the rigging, the photo's both on and off her stand trying to give the best angle. Big mistake I made, I should have water-lined this model first and placed it in a sea dio.
