1/350 USS Fletcher DD-445 (Tamiya)
I built the Fletcher 3+ years ago at least before I learned about Photo Etch. The Fletcher served as my test to update my ships that are completed with PE. The pictures show the results. The PE is Flagship models set. This set had the screws and I was missing one. I did repaint a good bit of the ship due to the old paint was a enamel paint and I did not have a match.
I used the fletcher class book by squadron as a reference. Looking at the pictures a lot I kept noticing the flag box. I made them close to size out of candle wax from the candle in my model kit. They might be a bit big but they worked. I also used old spruce to make the cone on the end of the screws. I also tried out the Tamiya weathering kit “B” to add rust weathering. It works good but the applicator that comes with the kit was not as thin as I would have liked it to be for this model.
