1/350 USS Lansdowne DD-486, 1945 (Dragon)

This is USS Lansdowne DD-486 as she appeared on 2 September 1945 transporting the Japanese delegation from the Yokohama Customs House Pier to USS Missouri for the Japanese surrender ceremony.

Lansdowne received 12 battle stars in WW2 and was selected as South Dakota’s escort in the battle line entering Tokyo Bay a few days earlier.

I know of no kits of Lansdowne, specifically. This model was built via a modification of the Dragon USS Buchanan 1945 kit.

Please refer to the accompanying build-up report for details.

Additionally, if you have struggled or had difficulties with the Dragon Buchanan kits, the build-up report applies nearly 100% to a build of either the 1942 or 1945 kit and may provide some useful information.
