USS Cowell DD-547
by Martin J. Quinn

1/350 USS Cowell DD-547 (Yankee Modelworks)

This kit was built pretty much out of the box. The kit started life as the BWN Johnston, but I decided I'd build Gatling, which my Uncle served on. It wasn't until all the parts were painted in accordance with Ms22 that I realized that when my Uncle was aboard Gatling, that ship had received the late war emergency AA fit. Since I couldn't build Gatling, and didn't want to repaint, I chose to build the kit as another Ms22 Fletcher - USS Cowell, which won a Presidential Until Citation for her effort off Okinawa.

Model was painted with WEM colourcoats and weathered with artists oils. Rigging is .003 Dai Riki monofilament, the "water" is acrylic gel.
