1/700 USS Hugh Purvis DD-709 (Pit-Road)

This is the 1/700 USS Hugh Purvis DD-709, (circa mid-1950s) I did for a friend of mine.  This was his first ship when he joined the U.S. Navy.

This is from the Pit-Road/Skywave USS Allen Sumner I have had in my closet for some time (mid-build, I had to purchase a USS Maddox for the bridge structure as the Sumner WW2 bridge was totally incorrect) with a Skywave Fletcher mast and various other Skywave and scratchbuilt platforms and parts added to update the kit to the mid-1950s fit.  I used a combination of Tom's Modelworks DD set and GMM photoetch from my "spare box" as well.
