1/350 USS De Haven DD-727 (Iron Shipwrights)
Model kit is the Iron Shipwright 1/350 USS Laffey. I built the kit as the DD-727 USS De Haven as she was during her tours of duty on the "Gun Line" in Viet Nam.
Built straight out of the box but substituting GMM SPS-29 and SPS-10 radar's for the kits. The kits SPS-29 is unbelievably complicated. I sneezed and lost 3/4 of the tiny parts. Foremast was scratch built from brass tubing and sheet plastic. Kits mast was broken in transit.
I love building Iron Shipwright kits. They are always a challenge but superbly designed and manufactured.
