1/700 USS Cushing DD-797 (Tamiya)

Here are some pictures of my recently completed U.S.S. Cushing. It is the 1/700 scale Tamiya kit. The center section of the #2 deck was scratchbuilt. The funnels were drilled out. Skywave 40mm guns were used in place of the kit's guns. gold medal 20mm photoetch guns replaced the kit's supplied guns. Multiple other Gold medal photoetch brass parts were used all over the model. The masts were scratchbuilt and the model was rigged with 0.002" monofilament. Photoetch life rings were added. The model was weathered with enamel and watercolor washes, drybrushing and pastel chalks.
