1/350 USS O'Brien DDG-975 (Dragon)
The O'Brien was a commission build for one of her former Executive Officers, she is modeled to appear as she was during Operation Desert Storm. The old Dragon Spruance kit was used to make this build, supplemented with lots of parts from Veteran Models, and the White Ensign photo etch set for this kit. The fit and detail on this kit are pretty horrible, so a lot of creativity was needed to address some very large gaps and fit problems. The flightdeck was incorrect for our purposes, so I made a new one from scratch and scribed in the RAST tracks. The beautiful cherry wood base and acrylic case were made by Grandpa's Cabinets.
