USS Momsen DDG-92
by Mark Eisenbraun

1/350 USS Momsen DDG-92 (Trumpter)

When I first saw the review for the Momsen I knew this was going to be my next build. I did some asking around on the forum, and ordered the WEM PE. I used Model Master enamel paints, and for the glass I used a light blue Sharpie marker. The rigging is gray (I don’t have any black) stretched sprue. The men are GMM

Unlike the Trumpeter North Carolina, the superstructure on the Momsen was angled, and mitered. This was challenging for me, but once I figured out that I needed to tape everything together and glue it from the inside I was OK. It took about a week for me to get everything just right, then I used a wire to get the glue into the corners. I admit I had some good sized gaps to fill, but the Bondo spot putty worked well. As the build moved on I had some great suggestions from the forum, some I could use, some I will be able to use on the next build. Once again I have to thank everyone for being so helpful. I also spent a lot of time in the Tips and Tricks section. The stretched sprue worked fantastic, and who would have thought to use Future floor wax to keep decals from silvering?

Anyhow here is my build of the USS Momsen DDG-92.

Thanks again to everyone who helped.
