1/350 U.S.S. Cromwell DE-1014 Destroyer Escort (Iron Shipwright)
Iron Shipwright's Dealey Class destroyer escort kit was built to represent
the Cromwell in its 1960's configuration. Basically, the kit was built
out-of-the-box with the resin mast replaced by brass rod/tubing and scratch-built
antennae, O-1 deck replenishment gear, Target designators, and searchlights/lamps
added. Details were also added to the 3" 50 Cal. aft gun; and, the 26'
whale boat was reconfigured to represent the modern version. Rigging was
.002"-.004" dia. nylon fishing line. Model Master Acryl paints were used.
Construction time was about 130 hours.
