1/350 USS Bronstein DE-1037 Destroyer Escort (Iron Shipwrights)
Iron Shipwright's destroyer escort Bronstein was backed-dated to its late 1960's configuration. This required a single 3" 50 cal. mount in the aft position and the removal of the towed anti-submarine device. My references were the photos and drawing in Friedman's U.S. Destroyers. The 3" mount was scratch-built using parts from a dissected twin mount. Barrels were .012" dia. brass rod. A modernized  26' whale boat and davits were added. Brass rods/tubing replaced resin mast parts with .002"-.004" dia. nylon fishing line used for rigging. The D.A.S.H. helicopter with its torpedo was scratch-built from misc. resin, plastic, and spare photo-etch items. This was the tailless QH-50D version (my wife calls it "the bug"). This took considerable time to research so I built six helicopters (three with tails and three without so I'll have some already made when finish my FRAM destroyers).  The model was painted using Model Master Acryl paints. Construction time was about 125 hours.
