1/350 USS Shea DM-30 (Yankee Modelworks)This is the Yankee Modelworks destroyer-minelayer kit with numerous scratch-built detail items added--24" searchlights, signal lamps, depth charge davits, speakers, running lights, brass mast, etc. L,Arsenal's 40mm mounts, 5"38 brass barrels, Mk 51 directors, Mk37 director& radar, and whaleboat were used. The twin 20mm guns were a combination of L'Asenal and kit parts. the SC-2 radar was a Tom's Modelworks piece. Halyards, radio wires, and support rigging was .002", .003" and .004" dia. nylon fishing line. The model was painted in the Measure 31/25D camouflage scheme (5-H, 5-O & Dull Black hull and 5-O & 20B deck) using Model Masters Marine acrylic paints. About 125 hours were expended on this model. It was a straight forward effort without any difficulties.
