My construction of the Australian Destroyer HMAS Brisbane in year 2000 configuration when I served on the ship for my first posting.
The kit is a White Ensign Models USS Benjamin Stoddert kit that I had to reconfigure to make Brisbane. The mast had to be completely remodelled, the ILD and IMD (Ikara Missile/Launch Decks) added - these were built from scratch. In 2000 Brisbane had an EOTS (Electro Optical Tracking System) on the AAC - I had to mould this the best I could and it is the long round ended object on the platform directly above the bridge. Other areas of the model had to be trimmed back to make Brisbane such as the deckhouse that the mast is mounted in. There were also frames around the MK32 torpedo tubes that had to be built from scratch.
The decals came from Hawk Graphics in Canada.
I also had to purchase the RHIB's from WEM as Brisbane had these in the later stage of its career.
The model has been built as closely as I could get it during the second last year in commission (2000).
