1/700 HMS Kelly (Matchbox)
The Model:This is my build of HMS Kelly 1: 700 from Matchbox.The set is old and is not as finely detailed as contemporary sets e.g. from Flyhawk. But it helped with a bit of updated details and some etch originally for other sets.
The History:
HMS Kelly participated in the British operations in Norway in 1940 and was torpedoed amidships by a German E-boat on the night of 9/10 May. Despite serious damage, the British managed to bring the ship back to England for repair. HMS Kelly was later sunk in the Mediterranean.
