This all started when I found a high-res 3-view drawing of the Type 45 destroyer on the web, some work with Photoshop to re-size the dimensions to match the published data gave me a starting point. All other information has been gleaned from various published images. Whilst the absolute accuracy of my build is a bit doubtful, everything is about right and as close to correct as I can get it - along the way I've spotted many differences between the plans and the real ship which have been incorprated in the model.
Everything is scratch built from plasticard sheet and rod except for the Lynx and 4.5' gun, both spares from a WEM Type-23, and the phalanx and liferafts. I made use of spare etched brass - in fact the only thing bought specifically for this build was a 15mm wooden ball for the radome. Decals are a combination of Resinshipyard along with some custom drawn details.
