1/350 HMS Diamond (Scratchbuilt)
The Daring class Destroyers of the 1950`s have long been a favourite of mine. Apart from the aged OOP Airfix kit in 1/600 and the Ozmods resin kits, there isn`t a kit of this class available. I bought a set of plans of HMS Diamiond in 1/8th to the foot from a firm called Nexus, which protrayed her as completed in 1953.
The construction was done using plastic sheeting and some spare parts from my spares locker. The combined lattice mast and funnel took a hundred pieces of stretched sprue, brass rod, and some PE. For the full WIP (Work-In-Progress) follow this link:
Although,not the best looking class of RN destroyer,they look impressive!
