HMS Widgeon was built from the fine WEM kit, using an article by John Lambert and various web resources as references. Numerous items were modified from the kit to bring the model closer to Widgeon in 1942. L`Arsénal resin and PE parts were used, amongst others. The very worn-down paintjob was recreated by using artist´s oils over an acrylic base. The hull number was sprayed using a homemade template. The water base is a Trumpeter display box, painted with wall paint with a large brush for an uneven surface and then sprayed with acrylics and sealed with gloss lacquer. As the model had to be kept removable, I was unable to avoid some gaps. For rigging, tan stretched sprue plus black UNi flyfishing thread was used. The masts were made from tapered machined brass by BMK.
