Can a decent looking ship model be constructed strictly out of the box? My goal with this model was to do just that. A spare time project displayable without help from photoetch or detail sets and completed in minimal time. This is the Pit-Road 1/700 scale Asakaze DDG-169. The kit went together very well with minor clean-up, and was brush painted with Model Master acrylics. A rather nice break from super-detailing; down the road, maybe I'll add some photo-etch.
