This is the IJN Yugumo in 1/700 scale. The kit is nearly 40 years old and it is certainly showing its age. The kit was a lot of work but it turned out pretty good in the end. The PE used was just bits and pieces from the parts box. The thing that really helped it was using the Tamiya Light Vessel Ordinance set for the larger armorament and FineMolds IJN Twin and Single barrel AA for the smaller guns. A lot of styrene, wire and stretched sprue also went into the model. The paint is Tamiya Kure Gray and Joann’s Craft Store Spice Brown for the linoleum. The model was weathered with powdered chalks. I was asked what year the fit of the ship is. I did not build it with a year in mind, I just built it for fun. I would guess the year might be early 1942 since the portholes are uncovered and the white markings are still on the side.
