1/350 Royal Italian Navy destroyer Audace (Scratchbuilt)

Royal Italian Navy destroyer Audace (AU), Brindisi 1917 - To cover the losses of the early years of the Great War, in 1916 the Royal Italian navy acquired the destroyer Kawakaze, originally ordered by Japan, from Yarrow Shipbuilders at Glasgow (Scotland). Audace takes service in early 1917 and was the first Italian ship to enter the harbour of Trieste just released (3 november 1918).

There are not detailed plans for this ship, most of the informations has been obtained by historical photos and movies.

Audace is shown  anchored in the Italian harbour of Brindisi in march 1917 (identification code AU; from 1918 code AD). The ship shows the typical italian camouflage of the period (overall ash grey with small black codes on the bow sides) and is accompanied by some typical boats of the Adriatic. All models are scratchbuilt in wood and plastic, with photoetching parts from Artwox Model and Gold Medal Models. Decals are kindly made by a different modeller (see w.i.p. in the forum www.modellismopiù.it).
