1/200 Bditelnny D-25 (Trumpeter)
This Soviet Destroyer was built during the years 1935 through 1942. The ship measured 370 feet with a speed of 39.37 knots. Its main armament was 7 X 1-130 mm (5.1 inches) B-13 guns. The ship was designed with Italian assistance and resembled destroyers built for the Greek and Turkish navies.These ships were designed poorly and only thirty of this class were built. The Bditelnny was sunk in 1942.
This kit like most earlier Trumpeter kits required some work. Parts of the superstructure and main armament were difficult to assemble. I removed the missile tubes and put in their place spare torpedo tubes from my shipyard. I also modified the rear superstructure to fit this class of destroyer. White Ensign paints were used throughout the model.Overall, a good project.
