1/700 Russian Destroyer Tashkent (Samek)
This is a 1/700 scale Samek Model, built for the 2001 Chicago Nationals, where it received 1st place, This has a scratch built mast, 37 mm AA guns, Torpedo tubes and superstructure details. I used GMM photoetch for railings, hatches and ladders. I used Dunagain Decals 1/700 Naval Ensigns and Jacks of the USSR and CIS Republics. I got a small red star decal from one of the Skywave decal sheets. The seascape is aluminum foil, painted and detailed. Humbrol paints used through out, and the blue for the Tashkent was mixed using the picture in the Profile Morskie # 29 Tashkent as a guide.
