1/400 Le Corse and LCT 9084 (Heller)

Both models were constructed straight from the box. Only addition was 1/400 photo etched railing from the Tauro Company. These rather old models were put together without any problems. I decided to moor the two combatants next to each other. The frigate at anchor and the LCT moored alongside. The water was made up from moulding powder and water.

The frigate was commissioned in 1955 and stricken from service in 1975. Displacement was 1250 tons. The turbines could develop 20.000 hp and the maximum speed was 27 knots. The armament consisted out of 3 turrets 2x57 mm AA, 2x20 mm AA, twelve torpedo tubes and one rocket launcher 6x375.

The LCT dates back from WWII and were used long after. This particular one was handed over from England to France. Main purpose to land troops, armour and supply’s on the beach. The French made extensive use of them in Indochina . Stricken from active service. Propulsion: 2x paxman Ricardo diesels in V of 500 hp each, two screws and one or two rudders. Speed was 8 knots and cargo capacity was 350 tons.
