The Eagle was rebuilt to the 1964 post modernization specification and the Vampire (Daring class destroyer) has been rebuilt as HMS Daring. All of the Deck markings are painted with home made masks and all of the aircraft markings are made with home made decals printed onto inkjet decal paper.
The Sea:
To complete the scenario I used MDF for the base on a resin sea made using tin foil and Fastglass
Resin from Halfords. The waves are made from Milliput. The sea was finished using Revell gloss enamel,
white oil paint and finished with Johnsons Klear which I bought from Asda.

HMS Daring
Built by Harland and Wolff in Belfast, the Eagle was one of four aircraft carriers laid down in 1942 when the United Kingdom stepped up its war effort.
Two of these carriers were scrapped and the remaining two became the Eagle and Ark Royal. The Eagle was commissioned in 1952 and was the fifteenth ship to carry the name. She carried 8 4.5 inch guns, 40mm bofors and Hornets and Skyraider aircraft.
In 1964 she underwent a major refit and subsequently became the largest ship in the Royal Navy displacing over 50,000 tons. Amongst other improvements her deck was angled further and she was fitted with Sea Cat missile systems. She remained in service intil 1972 when she was laid up as a spares ship for the Ark Royal until 1978 when she was broken up on the Clyde.
