ORP Kraków, Polish river ironclad, built in 1926

1/400 ORP Kraków (Kartonowa Kolekcja)

This is the rural diorama with the Polish "river ironclad" (monitor) ORP "Krakow". On the Pinsk Marshes (between Dneper and Bug) between I and II World Wars operated Riverine Flotilla of the Polish Navy, better known as Pinsk Flotilla. ORP "Krakow" was one of Flotilla's ships; served in Polish Navy between 1926 and 1939. Early 1930's: the Big River Ironclad is coming into one of the villages on the Pina riverside. It's a great event in the village inhabitants' life... so they all come running on the river. "Krakow" was a card model, which I resized from 1/100 to 1/400 scale. The windmill is also built from paper.
