1/700 PLA Armored Vehicles (Orange Hobby)
The very large Type 99 Main Battle Tank is a Chinese version of the T-72, which incorporates the hull, 125mm main gun, automatic loader, and advanced Russian explosive reactive armor (ERA) protection system.
The Type 96 Main Battle Tank is noticeably smaller than the Type 99, but has gone significant upgrades in recent years, with occasional ERA, add-on armor for the front of the turret, an integrated thermal imaging day/night sighting system, and infrared/laser jamming system. Both the Type 99 and 96 MBT are from Orange Hobby.
The ZBD-05 amphibious Infantry Fighting Vehicle is shown in modern Chinese Navy camouflage. It carries a two-man turret with a 30 x 165mm automatic cannon, and resembles the U.S. Advanced Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAAV). The large bow wave plate is hinged and hydraulically extended when the AAAV is in the water. When stowed, it lays across the bow and glacis plate providing another layer of frontal protection. The ZBD-05 kit from Orange Hobby also comes with BJ2022 4WD utility vehicles, which are somewhat similar to the U.S. Humvee.
Also shown are two custom-made ZBD09 8 x 8 wheeled Infantry Fighting
Vehicles, and two PTL02 100mm 6 x 6 wheeled Assault Gun vehicles.
I made these using parts from different kits.
