1/700 USS Yorktown CV-5 & USS Hammann DD-412 (Tamiya)
Roughly 15 years ago, I was at an event and the keynote was undersea explorer, Robert Ballard. He talked about the discoveries of the RMS Titanic, DKM Bismarck and USS Yorktown. He was selling his book Return to Midway. I bought a copy and he signed it and my Bismarck book. I’m a little late for the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Midway but managed to finish the excellent Tamiya 1:700 Yorktown and Hammann kits. Ballard found the Yorktown three miles down in remarkable condition but could not find the Hammann or the sunken Japanese carriers. Models are built out of the box.
