1/48 F4D2 VMF-115 (Lindbergh)
With the approach of Veterans Day, I wanted to do something for one of the older employees, at work, a Marine Vet. After talking with him about is USMC experience I thought about this set up. Bob was radar tech for Skyrays about the Independence during 1962 Med cruise.
The Skyray is a Lindbergh kit with aftermarket, VMF 115 decals
The carrier is a piece of offal 1” acrylic, engraved by Aladdin Awards
in Hagerstown MD, and the base a piece of crating poplar that had a purple
streak in it that a coworker routed and finished.
