1/350 The Fighting 84 - Grumman F-14 Tomcat (Trumpeter)
Perhaps I do not have to ask who saw The Final Countdown. Who saw the movie that remembers to the air ballet with the Tomcats and Zeroes. I think this movie made one particular air wing very famous and especially one squadron within this wing.
So, here is a Tomcat of VF-84. It was a kind of experimental building, because the ship which will "carry” these planes is still under construction (hopefully she will be finished soon), but I wanted to see how I have to assembly the planes. Which parts are necessary, which are not, how to glue and sand the parts etc. The photo-etch is from White Ensign Models, the missiles are from GHQ (they must be scaled down, because they are not 1/350 but 1/285) and the decals are from Yankee Modelworks. I used four main colors for the painting: Xtracolor light gull grey for the upper part, white for the lower part, black and gunship gray. I am satisfied with the result and I hope you like it.
