1/400 Collection WWII Convoy (Various)
Samples of my ever growing fleet of 1/400 scale World War Two ships under the theme of the Battle of the Atlantic. This scale offers a variety of types of ships from different nationalities without having to resort to expensive resin kits. I find the level of detail at this scale acceptable, and the scale allows for a sizeable collection. The American T2 tanker is the Revell Glasgow kit painted in wartime gray. The British-flagged merchant ship is my variation on the Revell C3 freighter Hawaiian Pilot. The US destroyer escort is my scratch conversion to a Cannon Class DE from the Heller French Frigate Le Corse, which is of similar dimensions and shares some similar characteristics. The British destroyer is an H Class DD converted from the Mirage Polish destroyer Wicher kit. The German Type IX Uboat is another Mirage kit, but straight out of the box.
