1/350 DKM S-Boat (Trumpeter/Bronco)
After becoming married, moving to a new appartment, and many other changes, I needed a small project to test my new workshop room. So I decided to go for yet another mini-diorama for my 5" club series (each base must be less then 5"). My selection was originally a Trumpeter S-boat. After building and waterlining the hull, I also bought a Bronco one, which had much nicer PE set in it. I also have rebuilt the front and middle 20mm guns using bits of L'Arsenal single and twin Oerlikons respectively, and added the crew made of Dragon, L'Arsenal and Fujimi figures from my spare box. The base is an old CD (Suse Linux 6.1), with water sculpted using putty and textured with toilet paper soaked with white glue and layered over and stirred with a hard brush. Painting was done using mainly Model Master colors. It is my first rigging attempt using stretched sprue.
