1/72 Schnellboot S-11 (Airfix)
After a 30 year break this was my first kit . Bought on ebay "as-is"it was missing some parts, others were broken. I overweathered it and had droopy rigging, so resprayed the sides and re-rigged.
Horizontal surfaces were Tamiya Royal Navy Lt Gray spray can.Top Rigging was thread sprayed with spray starch to stiffen. Weathering was a mix of rust-all dark and a general wash made up of various clean-ups. Some of the rigging points were not whole, so I used bent single strand copper telephone wire for those points. The barrel of the rear gun was broken and was replaced with a piece of .017 unwound guitar string. Extra figures are from the Revell Germany Kriegsmarine set. Rope was fabricated from heavy gauge thread supplied by my wife and chains were from AC Moore costume jewelery. A coat of clear flat by Tamiya was applied over all at the end.
A compressor and new airbrush are enroute to me this week, I am hooked again!
