HMCS Brantford

1/350 HMCS Brantford (ISW)

This is my build of HMCS Brantford using pictures that I found on the internet, from various museums, and the Canadian Navy Heritage page. I started with the ISW Sackville kit, then I scratchbuilt the bridge, bridge supports, compass house, mast, 4” gun, and rebuilt the depth charge racks aft. It was a pretty fun build considering I was at sea at the time and was limited to what I had brought with me as far as building and reference material. I used photoetch from the kit, WEM, GMM, and I think even a little L’Arsenal 1/400 stuff. I have since received word that she was in a two toned grey and white scheme- no green, but I thought it looked neater and decided not to change it. This is also my first real attempt at water using the Jim Baumann compendium (THANK YOU!!), and the signal hoisted is Bravo Zulu WSV (Wayne and Sharon V my in-laws who’ve taken the step to move to the ‘left coast’.) I considered crewing her, but as you can see I haven’t developed the courage to try weathering yet... baby steps.
