1/350 HMS Portchester Castle (Atlantic Models)
Completed a couple of years ago this is the 1/350 HMS Portchester Castle (built for my Father). My Grandfather served on Portchester as an asdic operator 1943-1946 and the ship played the part of HMS Saltash Castle in the film The Cruel Sea. This was my first crack at this scale and it was a very steep learning curve particularly the photo etch. Lovely resin kit from Atlantic Models with some aftermarket and some scratchbuild. Apologies for my photography which I realise is average at best! (However, my incompetence behind the lens did result in the rather atmospheric ‘midnight hunter’ shot which might just be my favourite!!)
