1/600 HMS Ensay (Davco)
This was a very cheap wargaming kit cast in white-metal. A departure from my usual 1/700 scale and good fun it was too.
I cleaned the hull up with an electric sander (the casting was pretty rough) scratchbuilt the superstructure and used various spares from Skywave, Seals, Modelkrak, WEM and GMM. Figures are from Eduard, rigging is my usual stretched sprue.
Ensay is painted WEM enamels, washed in artists' oils and dry-brushed in WEM enamels and artists's acrylics.
Water is my usual combination of white glue, acrylic gel and acrylic paint.
