History:
The British Motor Minesweeper was developed early in WWII to fight magnetic mines laid by the German Navy along the British coastlines. The wooden boats were of shallow draft and carried a large drum aft for the minesweeping cable. Later an acoustic hammer was added at the bow to deal with acoustic mines.
