1/210 USS Monitor & 1/300 CSS Merrimac (Pyro)
I recently posted the Lindberg Monitor and Merrimack kits on this website and I decided to build the Pyro molds that everyone says the Lindberg kit is based on. I have to say that the Lindberg and Pyro Kits are completely different, I see no way that Lindberg could have got any inspiration from the Pyro molds. The only thing they have in common is they both come as a pair. Comparing the two kits, I would say I prefer the Pyro, as it has a little more detail. As a downside, the Pyro kits had these tacky plastic flags that I had to cut off and add home printed ones to. Lindberg still has the advantage however in its kits are slightly larger and easier to build and of course, are easy to purchase still.
