1/185 USS Monitor and USS Passaic Ironclads (William Mahmood)
These are from a series of 1/185 card models of Civil War ironclads put out by William Mahmood. This display features the Monitor and the Passaic, a later refinement of the monitor concept. Mahmood also makes yet another monitor variant, the USS Tecumseh. I have the kit, but haven't built it yet.
These are fairly simple, nicely sized card models that can be detailed as much as you wish. I added some mooring cleats and jackstaffs made from stretched sprue. When I build the Tecumseh, I'm going to try and make it less 2-D in appearance by replacing the printed cannons with some made from dowels or plastic rod.
